Hello

If you are a "Type A Personality" and think yoga is too slow for you- try Bikram Yoga. I was skeptical at first, but am now hooked! This yoga is a series of twenty-six exercises performed in a room set at a minimum 105F degrees and about 40% humidity. The class is 90 minutes long, but goes by quickly due to the intensity.

After 3 years of practicing this Yoga I truly feel that it has changed my body inside & out. I am posting some links in case you want to learn more about it- I would love to hear your thoughts too!

I like the blog title. We don't think of yoga and type a as going together, but there are lots of different types of yoga.

Nice Blog. I actually love Yoga as well. It definitely is the best thing for your body. I've done yoga for about a year now. I have also tried Bickram Yoga a few times and it is tough, but it feels so good afterwards. I go to a place in Quincy center. Here is the website: (http://www.yogaquincy.com/) Great stuf!! I highly recommend it for everyone.

I agree, you can beat how you feel once class is over. I also go to the Quincy Center location and it is the best Bikram studio I have been to. There is a new owner named Charlie and he is great with first time students. I hope some of you will have a chance to try it out!

I too, am addicted to Yoga. I have been going for almost one year, and have become an absolute fanatic. I am not the athletic type, and it usually takes a huge feat of will power to get myself to the gym, but with Yoga it is the reverse, I'm mad when I can't go!

I agree that Yoga would work well for Type A's, in fact, they need it more than anyone!

Great Blog!

So true. I haven't done Bikram but I have done Vinyasa and there's not comparison to the experience of Yoga. Nothing else gives you the mental relaxation with the physical exertion at the same time. I'm intrigued by Bikram now..I'll have to read some more on it!

I am such a type A, and this sounds awesome because I have trouble getting myself motivated to sit through a traditional yoga class.

Do you have any suggestions for a good place to take these classes within the city of Boston?

Do they accept Type A-?

I am not regular at yoga. I do it once a month or so. Looking at these pictures, I feel I should be more regular.
Very interesting blog....

Josh,

Bikram Yoga Boston has a downtown and Harvard Square location. I am not a huge fan of the dowtown location, but that is where I started. It is a much smaller space than Quincy or Framingham so it gets crowded and even hotter, but it is a good place to check out. Good Luck!
